About Ruffy Biazon

“Do the right things and do things right.”

This is the simple guideline that Congressman Ruffy Biazon imposes upon himself in performing his duty as a public official. Now serving his third and final term as a member of the Philippine House of Representatives representing the lone district of Muntinlupa City, Congressman Ruffy Biazon is the Senior Vice Chairman of the Committee on National Defense and Security, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations, and Vice Chairman of the Committee on Veterans Affairs.

In his three terms as a legislator, he authored and co-authored 34 Republic Acts, 8 of which are principally authored by him. In the present Congress, he has 75 bills and 18 resolutions credited to his name.

Known for his independence in thought and principled stand on issues, he is acknowledged my media and fellow congressmen as one of the most hard-working and dynamic members of the House of Representatives, actively participating in committee hearings and plenary debates. He is often invited to guest in TV talk shows, radio programs and quoted in print media due to his relevant and timely insights on matters of public interest.

He has been cited by the Free Press Magazine as an Outstanding Congressman of the Philippines and the Philippine Graphic Magazine as one of the Top 100 Young Leaders of the country. During the celebration of Women’s Month this year, he was conferred the title of Honorary Woman by the SM Women’s Committee and the Cervical Cancer Prevention Network (CECAP) for his strong advocacy against the spread of Cervical Cancer in the Philippines.

In his serving his constituents in Muntinlupa, he implemented his 6K program which focused on Kalusugan, Kaunlaran, Karunungan, Kabuhayan, Kapayapaan and Kalikasan. His experience in national legislation goes back seventeen years, serving in the Philippine Senate from 1992 as Chief Legislative Officer and Chief of Staff to two senators before being elected congressman in 2001.

Cong. Ruffy Biazon attended the University of Santo Tomas where he took up Medical Technology with the dream of becoming a doctor. But he was drawn to public service and eventually found fulfillment in it.

Born on March 20, 1969 and the youngest of three children of Sen. And Mrs. Rodolfo G. Biazon, Ruffy is happily married to Trina Guinto Reyes-Biazon and is blessed with four children, all boys. He attends Victory Christian Fellowship in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
