Sexuality has never been proven to be directly linked to a person's capability to do policy making, needless to say to be a good citizen. The same goes with religion. Being a member of a religion does not automatically mean that you are capable of doing only good, as being a non-member does not necessarily mean you are capable of doing only bad. Sexuality and capability to do good politics are two variables that have no direct linkage. And so unless that linkage between those two variables are clearly set, then there is no good reason why anybody should restrict gay people to be in politics.
