Candidates for REGIONAL GOVERNOR and REGIONAL VICE-GOVERNOR in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) may file their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) in Zamboanga City and in Marawi City, after the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) approved the setting up of the two satellite offices of the Regional Election Director in the two ARMM cities.
COMELEC Chairman Sixto Brillantes approved the request of the poll body’s Regional Election Director for the ARMM, Atty. Rey Sumalipao, “upon consultation with the other members of the Commission.”
The two COMELEC ARMM satellite offices are located at the following:
1. 2nd floor, Neighbor’s Center
Tomas Castillo Road, Baliwasan, Moret
Zamboanga City
2. Lanao del Sur Capitol Compound
Barangay Buadi-Sacayo
Marawi City
The period of filing of COCs in connection with the August 8, 2011 automated elections in the ARMM started May 19, 2011 and will run until May 23, 2011.
According to COMELEC Resolution No. 9212, promulgated April 28, 2011, COCs for Regional Governor and Regional Vice-Governor shall be filed at the Office of the ARMM Regional Election Director, while COCs for the position of Members of Regional Legislative Assembly shall be filed at the Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor concerned. ###
