MANILA, Philippines -- Bangon Pilipinas standard bearer Bro. Eddie Villanueva party this morning kicked off his campaign at Luneta Park, Manila, unfurling the largest Philippine flag.
Villanueva said the unfurling of the flag, which is estimated to cover two hectares, "is a prophetic gesture of celebrating the jubilee year."
During the kick off, Villanueva was joined by an estimated 10,000 Jesus Is Lord Movement members, his runningmate Perfecto Yasay Jr.and seven senatorial candidates of Bangon Pilipinas.
Businesswoman Grace Gupana, who commissioned the creation of the flag, said God spoke to her "in thunder and lightning just to raise the flag of the Philippines and bring it to Israel to be blessed."
"To remove the curse in the land is to make a two-hectare flag," Gupana said on why she made the flag way back in 2006.
