If you are elected president of the Philippines, how will you stop the bombings and other terrorist attacks by insurgents in Mindanao? Posted on 13/07 7:31 PM

Gilbert Teodoro

We have a pseudo-communist insurgency that has raged for the last four decades in the countryside, leading to loss of lives on both sides. We have a Muslim separatist rebellion in parts of Mindanao. While we have a ceasefire agreement in place with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front as a precondition for formal peace talks, the negotiations have been at an impasse since the government rejected an agreement on ancestral domain. We are eager to sit down with the other side to restart the talks on a solid footing so that we can attain peace that has eluded Muslim Mindanao for so long.
